Ever wonder what it’s like to be a staff member in one of the finest restaurants in the country? Our November book, “Service Included” by Phoebe Damrosch, gives you more than a peek into the life of a service captain at Thomas Keller’s Per Se from the intense training to her dalliance with the sommelier.
Along with giving juicy details on the inner workings of THE New York fine dining establishment, Ms. Damrosch also provides tips to make us all better patrons, such as, “[t]here is no need to say that you are allergic when you don’t like something. Not only are allergies very serious, but also you have every right to your personal taste.”
Alabama Booksmith revamped its business model last month, and I am sad to report that they are no longer offering the discount for our books. However, the Central Library has a copy available as does Mountain Brook.
